About Successful ESL Ltd.

Successful ESL was conceived as a result of many requests from our customers at Learning English With Laughter. Schools, universities, and churches all over the world use our ESL Curriculum, which is primarily sold to ESL teachers. We received numerous request from ESL students who wanted to work individually on their English lessons, and still be able to hear a teacher with the correct accent.

In response to these requests, we decided to combine forces and develop a family business. Four members of our family have taught English as a Second Language in other countries. There are six Stockers working very hard, combining the skills and knowledge of the whole family. Here the teaching skills acquired in teaching in countries all around the world are utilized to produce “Step Up To English”.

We made this program for the students who want to work individually, or in small groups, listening, speaking, reading and writing. Nearly all of the written text is repeated orally, so that the student can practice saying the words to imitate the teacher’s accent and intonation. The written questions are given, then the questions are asked orally. The student writes the answers in the workbook, before clicking to see and hear the correct answers. The speaker icons on each page remain active, so that the student can go back to an icon any number of times to hear the sentence correctly.

This is a conversational approach to English, stressing communication in a variety of everyday situations. Although reading and writing are included in each lesson, listening and speaking are given the greatest emphasis. Basic grammar is introduced sequentially then practiced extensively before another concept is introduced. For this reason, we have entitled the course “Step Up To English.” The students learn the material step-by-step before moving up to the next level.
